Intel Cedarview chipset and Cedar Trail 32nm processors come in 2011, put Pine Trail into a shed

Have you already heard about Intel's new Pine Trail chipset and Pineview processor? That's right, those designed for netbooks and nettops. Their recent appearance sure is good news especially for those who were holding out to buy a netbook until 2010 arrives. Well guess what, Intel has unveiled some details on what next generation Cedarview Atom platform will look like which makes me think how many people who were going to spend their money on Pine Trail are going to say: "No, there is no point, is there? I want Cedarview already."?

So, if you are one of those who can do without Pineview for one more year or so, you will be delighted to hear that Cedarview chipset and Cedar Trail processor are coming to markets as soon as 2011 arrives. Main features are the following:

  •  32nm fabrication process
  •  single channel DDR3 1066 two DIMM system memory controller
  •  DirectX10.1 graphics adapter
  •  HDMI, DisplayPort, twin-display support
  •  Blu-Ray support
  •  LVDS, eDP
